About this formulation

Acai (Euterpe oleracea) is the fruit of a slender palm indigenous to the floodplains and rain forests of the Amazon basin, where the berry has long been part of the daily diet and is valued as a restorative food. It is an exotic relative of the blueberry and the cranberry, and like them it owes much of its character to the deep pigments concentrated in the skin and pulp.

Acai Berry Capsule presents that fruit as a standardised 10:1 dry extract, so that a single 400 mg capsule carries the constituents of a far larger quantity of fresh berry in a form that is stable, uniform and convenient to dose.

The extract, and what it carries

Anthocyanins and polyphenols — the pigments that give the ripe berry its colour are also its principal antioxidant constituents, and they are the reason the fruit is concentrated rather than simply dried.

Vitamin C — present in the extract at 5%, contributing to antioxidant activity and to the normal function of the immune system and of collagen formation in skin.

B-group vitamins, electrolytes and trace minerals — the fruit naturally supplies a range of micronutrients associated with normal energy metabolism, and these are carried through into the extract.

Antioxidant capacity — acai is frequently cited for its ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value, a laboratory measure used to compare the antioxidant capacity of foods. It is one of the reasons the berry is used in formulations aimed at oxidative stress rather than at any single organ system.

Acai Berry Capsule is manufactured at our GMP-certified unit and is available for third-party and private-label manufacturing. Extract ratio, capsule shell type, bottle or blister packing and label artwork can be tailored to your requirement, and export documentation is prepared to the destination market’s format. Certificates of analysis are supplied with each consignment.
