About this formulation

The immune system is the body’s defence against infectious organisms and other invaders, responding through a sequence of steps that identify and clear what does not belong. Cultures across the world have used plant material to nourish that system, and a number of the herbs used in India for this purpose have since been examined for their pharmacological properties. Immunopan Tablet brings eight of them together in a single 500 mg coated tablet, with Shigru carrying the largest share of the formulation.

The herbs, and why they are here

Shigru (Moringa oleifera) — the drumstick tree, used across India as both food and medicine. Its leaves are a dense source of protein, vitamin C, riboflavin and iron, and it is traditionally associated with support across the liver, joints and cardiovascular system.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) — known as Indian ginseng, and the best-studied rasayana in the adaptogen group. It is described in classical practice as bringing the body back toward equilibrium, calming it when stressed and supporting energy when fatigued.

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) — regarded as the foremost herb for clearing the microcirculatory channels, or srotas. It is also a medhya rasayana, associated with comprehension, memory and recollection, and is said to increase the quality of ojas.

Amla (Emblica officinalis) — one of the three fruits of Triphala, used as a general and geriatric tonic, and one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, which scavenges free radicals in the body.

Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) — holy basil, regarded as an anti-stress adaptogen. Its leaves are traditionally used to support the respiratory passages and clear phlegm from the bronchial tubes.

Shuddha Shilajit (Asphaltum) — purified mineral pitch, whose Sanskrit name means conqueror of mountains. It is used in ayurveda to carry nutrients deeper into the tissues and to amplify the action of the herbs it accompanies.

Trikatu and Nimbu (Citrus limon) — Trikatu, the classical combination of three pungent drugs, supports gastric function and the penetration of the other ingredients, while lemon contributes further natural vitamin C.
