About this formulation

The thyroid is a small endocrine gland with a wide brief. Through the hormones it produces it influences the rate of metabolism, protein synthesis and the body’s sensitivity to other hormones. When output drifts above or below its normal range, the effects are felt broadly — unexplained gain or loss of weight, lethargy, changes in pulse rate and unsettled mood.

Thyropan Tablet is built on the ayurvedic reading of this as largely a kapha disturbance. It combines single herbs with two classical guggul preparations in a 475 mg coated tablet, and is intended as nutritional support alongside, not in place of, treatment prescribed by a physician.

The herbs, and why they are here

Apamarg (Achyranthes aspera) — the largest single component. It is used in ayurveda to balance kapha and vata, and is the classical herb for Bhasmaka Roga, a condition marked by disordered appetite and metabolism.

Kachnar Guggul — a classical formula used where kapha has accumulated as growths or swellings, including in thyroid and PCOS contexts. It is valued for its detoxifying and kapha-reducing action.

Yograj Guggul — used to help clear toxins and to support circulation to bone, muscle and nerve tissue, and so the general strength of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

Peepalachal (Ficus religiosa) — the bark of the peepal tree, one of the most widely used materials in traditional Indian medicine, applied across metabolic, respiratory and digestive indications.

Aak (Calotropis procera) — traditionally described as anti-inflammatory and cleansing, and used as a digestive stimulant to keep absorption working smoothly.

Shuddha Bhilamo (Semecarpus anacardium) — purified marking nut, used in ayurveda as an appetiser and digestive stimulant, and closely associated with kapha disorders.

Akhrot (Juglans regia) — walnut, a source of healthy fats traditionally used to support normal cholesterol levels and healthy weight.
